HR Advisor - Case Management Team

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, advice and support to Line Managers on more complex and sensitive ER cases with high risk to the business associated all in scope UK businesses.

  • Establish effective working relationships to ensure that relevant stakeholders are engaged and informed at the appropriate stages in each case.

  • Work in partnership with other members of the Case Coaching Team and others to deliver a timely, accurate and effective case work.

  • Coach and support line managers, Employees and representatives in a proactive manner to resolve cases effectively, and to attain consistency and compliance across the business.

  • Provide balanced advice that is legally compliant & in line with company policy to managers, and employees in order to manage risk.

  • Support and manage cases in an accurate, timely fashion ensuring all cases are updated regularly and records maintained appropriately (using the appropriate technology solution)

  • Ensure effective working relationships are created and maintained including Business HR and Trade Union / Employee representatives, Occupational Health etc.

  • Work with key stakeholder groups to continuously improve line leader capability by challenging, influencing and supporting managers in a way that increases their knowledge, understanding and ability to manage ER cases effectively

  • Provide challenge, support & contributes to changes and developments in technology solutions, policy & process to ensure the continuous improvement of the efficiency of the service.

  • Contribute to identify and implement continuous improvement activity.

  • No direct line leadership.

  • Deputise for HR Manager - ER & Case Management (where required)

  • Coach and mentor less experienced members of the team

  • Provide specialist advice and coaching to line managers to take greater accountability for managing complex and high risk ER issues

  • Responsible for management and prioritisation of own workload with no support

  • Contribute to training new team members when required within their expertise

  • Influencing decisions through advice or facilitating a service to others.

  • Input where appropriate into the review and development of ER policy/procedure and learning from experience.

Key skills & qualifications

  • Knowledge of UK and businesses' policy & processes.

  • ER discipline expertise including sound understanding on UK employment law

  • Considerable on the job experience.

  • Sound understanding of how the team integrates in Case Coaching and within HR organisation model.

  • Good understanding of how the team contributes to UK ER objectives.

  • Business organisation understanding, knowledge and acumen for the business area in support of e.g.

    local business policy, process, stakeholders.

  • Exercises judgment to problem solve, understand and advise on a variety of high risk and complex employee relations matters.

  • Contributes to defining standards and specifications around which the team operates in the ER discipline.

  • Uses own judgement to select appropriate solutions which can vary from defined options, plus evaluating options based on practice and precedence, and application of acquired technical expertise.
