Support Worker - Children/Young Adults Learning Disabilities

A Specialist residential school based in Hermitage, West Berkshire is looking for experienced Support workers to support Children and Young Adults with complex Autism and Learning disabilities between the ages of 5-25 years.



As a Support worker, you will be there to provide the best quality of care and person-centred support.

Experience in supporting children or adults with Autism and other learning disabilities is essential.




Location: Hermitage, West Berkshire


(You need to be a driver)



Shifts patterns:


Monday-Sunday



  • 7:00am - 22:00pm

  • 7:00am - 15:45pm

  • 15:15pm - 22:00pm



Salary: £10-£14 per hour depending on shift type/qualifications



Care Support Duties



  • Implement all aspects of individual care plans.

  • Administration of drugs and medication.

  • Helping students in all aspects of daily living including dressing, bathing, and after toilet hygiene.

  • Implement the individual Young Persons Plans.

  • Assist students with their nutritional requirements, e.g.

    assisting with feeding and preparing meals.

Requirements for you as the Support Worker:



  • NVQ Level 3 Children and young people/Residential Childcare is desirable

  • Mandatory Training including: Safeguarding Adults and children can be provided.

  • Experience in supporting children or adults with Autism and other learning disabilities

  • Encouraging and supportive attitude
