Location: Bordon, Hampshire

Salary: £35,000+ Depending on experience

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Vessel Maintenance Manager on behalf of one of our clients.



You will be responsible for planning and coordinating all technical operations involving the maintenance of the fleets machinery equipment, facilities and systems including the Main engines, Generators and other auxiliaries.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Co-ordinate and Manage all maintenance activities by external technical service providers and internal services by the crew.
  • Maintain equipment tracking and preventive maintenance software system for the vessels.
  • Carry out Technical Audits as per the ISM requirements to ensure that vessels are maintained to a high standard and are operated to all current regulations and Company standards.
  • Manage the vessel requisitions and monitor spare parts stocks.

    With assistance of the Vessel Coordinator order equipment and services for the vessels.
  • Co-ordinate any Dry-Dock activities, refits and major fabrication works, which arise from the machinery maintenance program.
  • Review and update the maintenance schedules based on Ship survey findings and recommendations.
  • Ensure operations adhere to Company HSE and QA Management Systems and Policies. 

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Degree in associated subject such as Engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • Experience as assistant or vessel superintendent.
  • Experience as Chief Engineer or well experienced Engineer. 

Desirable:


  • Working experience within the marine survey industry is essential.
  • Experience of Diesel generators and propulsion systems.
  • Knowledge of MAN / YAMAR / CAT / DEUTZ machinery.
  • Coordination experience in the technical field in the maritime industry.
  • Effective IT skills, being proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).
  • Able to work independently and manage own time effectively.
