Location: St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (Starting salary: £27,000 pa)


Aspens Charities now has a unique career opportunity for a Registered Manager, managing our service based at St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex

How will you make a difference?

  • By being responsible for the day-to-day management of a residential home which includes safeguarding and Health & Safety matters, ensuring that all regulating body's expectations are met.

  • By managing and leading a team of staff that provides innovative, responsive, high quality and person-centred services to people and their families.

  • By providing regular supervision and performance reviews to staff.

  • By managing a delegated budget, ensuring effective and efficient management of expenditure in the home.

  • By establishing and developing effective relationships and channels of communication with colleagues, community organisations, partner agencies and other external agencies, including chairing and leading multi-agency meetings.

  • By reviewing service provision with others, ensuring continued improvements are made, driving innovation and business development.


The successful candidate will


  • Have extensive experience at a management level in respect of provision of residential services

  • Have a Level 5 Diploma Qualification or equivalent (R.M.A or Leadership and Management NVQ level 4)

  • Have a good understanding of CQC outcomes applicable to residential care settings

  • Be able to form positive relationships with other professionals and have experience of multidisciplinary working 

  • Understand person centred approaches to the support and care of service users

  • Have a good understanding of and experience in managing safeguarding issues and in working with local authority commissioners and care managers.

  • Have the ability to manage groups of staff and experience in the management of ‘difficult’ staff.

  • Have the ability to train and assess staff 

  • Have experience in the management investigations and disciplinary matters.

  • Be well organised, methodical and determined yet flexible in order to motivate staff.

  • Have good knowledge of current legislation, learning disabilities, autism, and social care issues in relation to mental capacity and deprivation of liberty. 

  • Have a full driving licence
