Extra Care Team Manager (Housing) - Kent
A large Kent-based housing association has an exciting new permanent opportunity for an experienced housing manager with a passion for service development to manage and develop their extra care schemes in Medway, Swanley and Sevenoaks, and help to develop and deliver the older person's work throughout Kent.
The focus of this position is the management and development of three extra-care schemes across West Kent.
You will be responsible for the delivery of an excellent housing management service, as well as the development of a varied activities programme and to build positive working relationships with the on-site service providers (care teams, catering provision etc), the local community and residents.
You will manage three Scheme Managers who in turn manage Extra Care Assistants and you will be responsible for managing and developing these schemes and will use your skills and experience to provide an excellent housing (not care) related management service to residents, creating a vibrant environment for our residents.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
, Leading your scheme staff to deliver on the contractual requirements of the support and management contracts
, Providing a housing management service to the service users, assisting with issues such as tenancy sustainment and ASB etc
, Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of promoting tenant ownership and responsibility to create sustainable tenancies and places where people want to live.
, Help customers to understand their responsibilities as tenants and how to sustain their tenancy.
, Manage, motivate and develop your team to deliver consistently outstanding performance where customers receive a genuine and positive experience.
, Continuously improve the service and financial performance of the Extra Care Homes through monitoring and reporting against performance measures.
, Develop our reputation of being a leading provider of older person's accommodation and services through collaborative working with partners, stakeholders and commissioners.
, Create a safe and healthy environment for residents and their visitors and those working in their homes.
Ensure your team follow safe working practices to keep themselves and others safe.
, Demonstrate commitment to dementia services by working proactively with partners, customers & stakeholders.
, Maximise positive outcomes in the management of empty homes, arrears and community safety
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have strong management experience, ideally within a sheltered housing or care background.
As the role is for a housing association and a focus of the role is the provision of a housing management service, knowledge of housing management techniques and processes will also be beneficial, as will partnership working.
To be a success in this position you will have a passion to improve lives for older people, shaping services that help maintain their independence and keep them connected to the community.
You will possess excellent management, communication and networking skills.
You will also be resilient, able to work under pressure to tight timescales, and will thrive on the day to day challenges of managing a dispersed team.
As the schemes are spread across the county, it will be essential that you can drive for this position.
This is a full time role, working 37 hours a week and offering a salary of £32,726, as well as the following benefits:
