Polar Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious global client for a Logistics Development Manager to be responsible for developing the UK Logistics business.

The company provide consultancy to customers including optimised Logistics solutions, Logistics process management, and integrated Logistics & Information services utilising their own TMS/WMS platform.

Following continued growth in Europe, the company are now seeking to develop this business within the UK

Reporting to the UK MD, the Logistics Development Manager will play a key role in developing the UK Logistics business.

Logistics Development Manager Responsibilities

  • Represent the business with stakeholders for new prospects

  • Generate leads from a standing start, prospect identification and lead qualification

  • Develop and grow new prospects / target sales funnel

  • Learn key company USP's and become familiar with the TMS/WMS solution

  • Bring an existing network to the organisation, develop, maintain and utilize this network to support activity

  • Manage the opportunity and lead the process of compiling value propositions

  • Coordinating tender management and solution design concepts

  • Presenting operational flow solutions and commercial proposals to prospects

  • Leading the technical and operational design of new business

  • Coordinate the creation of commercial documents and agreements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree level education in Logistics, Sales or Business-related subject desirable

  • Extensive experience within Contract Logistics, including operational management, solution design/innovation.

  • Strong, well maintained network within UK Warehouse and Transport industry

  • Broad and deep experience within Logistics/SCM across different sectors

  • Project Management - proven experience implementing/delivering new initiatives.

  • Entrepreneurial approach - ability to show own initiative to develop prospects

  • Proven Business Development/Sales skills - identifying and developing prospects, pipeline management, follow up etc.

  • Strong Commercial experience - tenders, contracts, cost control, budgeting, sales value etc.

  • High level of technical awareness - good knowledge of Supply Chain systems, Tracking, WMS, TMS, ERP's, etc.

  • Very strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Driven and resilient nature; eager to take on challenge and drive business growth

  • Full clean Driving Licence and willingness to travel widely
