Community Support Worker - Chorley

A Community Support Worker is required to provide a care and support service users in their own home, or supported living premises, across the Chorley area.

The Role
The focus of this role is to visit service users in their own home, providing a care and support service, with a view to helping them maintain their independence and to maintain their dignity, physical health, psychological well-being and to continue to be a valid member of society.

This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
, Support clients towards independent living and to be involved with their community
, Support clients with appointments, assisting with paying bills and assisting with benefits
, Assisting an individual to maintain their personal hygiene, freshness and appearance by providing assistance with washing, bathing and getting dressed.
, Assisting a Client to and from bed, ensuring that bedpans/commodes and urinals are available as necessary.

, Assisting and maintaining the hygiene of persons affected by incontinence, including washing, drying and application of barrier creams as required..
, Remake beds, clean and tidy bedrooms and all other areas where you have been working and leave in a reasonable and acceptable state.

, Laundry, cleaning and tidying where required
, Prepare and serve meals as required in the Clients' care plan, ensuring adequate fluids are taken and assisting in feeding unwell Clients, recording what they have eaten and drunk in their file.
, Participate in social outlets and provide them if required.
, Remind Clients to take their medication if indicated in their care plan.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require previous experience within a supported housing or care background.

As this role is community based, it is essential you have your own vehicle to travel between clients as some live in remote areas, not covered by public transport.

As you will be visiting clients in their own homes, you will also require a clean DBS on the update service, or be willing to have one processed.

The Contract
This is a permanent vacancy, offering £8.75 per hour, plus a 25p payment per visit.
The role is on a zero-hour contract, so hours may fluctuate.
