Team Leader, Analytical (Development) - Harwell Campus - £45,000 - £65,000 pa

Company Description
The Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC) has been established to provide the UK's first strategic vaccine development and advanced manufacturing capability.

VMIC will fast track development and manufacture of early stage vaccine products, as well as serve as the UK's response capability to produce vaccines against emerging infectious diseases.

They have already taken a leading role in the Government's national response to COVID-19.

Their state-of-the-art vaccines manufacturing facility will be located on the renowned Harwell Science and Innovation Campus near Didcot in Oxfordshire.

Job Description
The Analytical Team Leader will be responsible for running of analytical processing, including design, development and validation of analytical methodology whilst managing and building a small team of development scientists to support the manufacture of novel vaccines.

You will help support the establishment of the analytical development laboratories, be responsible for leading development activities having oversight and project management responsibility for workload, setting KPI's and supporting the strategy set by the Head of P&AD (Process & Analytical Development).

You will lead projects within the business unit including planning, scheduling, executing and reporting to achieve set targets.

Assisting the Head of P&AD in the procurement of upstream development equipment and supporting external clients with the delivery of project updates and reporting.

Personal Specification
In order to be considered for the role candidates will need to have analytical development and having worked in a Biochemistry, Viral Vector, Vaccine or similar environment.

You will bring a good understanding of a wide range of bioprocessing analytical techniques; cell-based assays, qPCR, SDS PAGE, flow cytometry, Western blot analysis, ELISA and HPLC.

You will need to be excellent communicator and leader of teams thriving on an opportunity to play a pivotal role in VMIC's establishment, and its mission to serve as the UK's vaccine accelerator.
