Who we need
This role seeks a research analyst with experience working in an analytical role who is passionate about the people of the West Midlands! Through this role you will have many opportunities to get involved to inform and evaluate policies, projects and plans for travel in the West Midlands.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities with statistical forecasting experience and an ability to understand and appreciate how human behaviour and experience influences movement on the transport network.

Your attention to detail will be shared with a capability to see the bigger picture, be creative and problem-solve.

You will have the ability to communicate clearly to a variety of audiences, including gathering requirements and the creation and presentation of reports that identify key actions to help build upon previous insight.

You will demonstrate a high level of numeracy skills and the ability to critically examine and leverage large data sets to produce drill-down reporting and metrics as well as play a key role in defining and launching automated reports.

You will be able to prioritise and manage your workload in an agile, fast-paced environment.

A degree is not required for this role but experience with analytical software such as Tableau, ArcGIS, FME, Excel or equivalent, over at least two years is essential for this role.

Experience with a programming language such as Python, R, SQL or equivalent and a working knowledge of data science techniques would also be preferable.

This is a remote working opportunity until a date is agreed for the WMCA workforce to return to our usual place of work at 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham.
