Operations Manager

We are currently recruiting for a dynamic organisation based on the outskirts of Tonbridge that are seeking to employ a very well experienced Operations Manager with a wealth of experience incl.

managing all aspects of operations, production, manufacturing and support functions within the business.

We are seeking applicants with an extensive background in FMCG / Pharmaceutical industry.

Duties include:
Develop the overall production plan and schedules
Regular liaising with Commercial department to manage customer expectations
Oversee the planning of production in conjunction with Production and Warehouse area staff
Direct site development projects such as investments in production technology and engineering projects and process flow planning
Undertake financial analysis of all production operations
Undertake regular business planning and reporting on outcomes
Manage, motivate, and develop staff to build a team
Lead and manage the performance of the Production team
Liaise with Sales team to confirm sales forecast
Responsibility for the integrity and quality of Operations
Directly accountable for achieving business targets for product unit costs, health and safety compliance and Operations Dept overheads
Deliver capital investment programs to time and budget
Responsible for the turn-around of under performing operations/processes
Compile and monitor departmental budgets
Identify key performance parameters and establish relevant monitoring
Negotiate with suppliers of packaging, utilities and raw materials

Skills and experience required:

Extensive experience in FMCG, pharmaceuticals or other related industry
Managing a similar function in a production centred SME of similar scale and playing a significant part in the growth of that business
Significant cross functional management experience
A relevant degree would be highly advantageous
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
A team player with a pleasant and affable personality
Demonstrated competency in managing all aspects of the Operations
Good people management skills to lead and motivate all members of the team
Effective planning and strategic thinking
Reporting of Key Performance Indicators
Previous Site Safety/Health & Safety experience (NEBOSH / IOSH)
Continuous process improvement and implementation
