Design & Technology Head (Corpoarte Engineering & Technology)

Major tasks and responsibilities and Key elements of the role
, Responsible at corporate level for engineering standardization / best practices across all group and their enforcement/implementation
, Directs the development of new concepts from initial design through final handover as required by Business and Corporate E&T Director
, Be the voice E&T Corporate Group in early project development work to ensure Design for Manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing Principles are built in from URs to ready plants/systems objects
, Develop with his/her team feasibility studies, concept studies and more advanced engineering stages (BOD/BD) depending on scope and resources allocations
, Bridge in effective way business drivers (for a generic industry this translates mainly in “speed to market” and “costs efficiency”) and goals into proper design requirements and execution
, Identify as necessary plans for improvement, training, recruitment when and where GAPs will be identified at team and site (this will be obviously done in agreement with Corporate Engineering Head and Local Site Engineering Head)
, Strengthens relationships with suppliers, contractors and external consultants to build a powerful network at service of the department
, Take parts to engineering projects execution with his team allocating resources to project coordination roles in agreement with Corporate E&T director and site heads/site engineering heads
, Responsible and accountable to develop and maintain in each site a proper up-to-date site master plan in line with Company manufacturing strategy
, Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of projects and secure that each site has proper documentation control practices in place
, Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery of contracted works
, Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
, Aligns with organizational strategy and delivers on operational and project goals.
, Sets high team performance expectations that meets or exceeds project goals which will result in robust and efficient value streams and fast time to market.
, Co-develops and transfers technologies, processes and knowledge to high volume facilities.
, Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards for the department.
, Coaches, mentors and develops talent for high performance.
, Collaborates cross functionally and cross business to investigate new robust and innovative technologies in alignment with R&D and manufacturing network strategies.
, Provides technical expertise (directly or through his/her team) for any strategic activity including but not limited to acquisitions, due diligence, divestitures, design changes, strategic sourcing changes or projects.

Assures that relevant Group/Corporate policies, standards, procedures best practices/lessons learnt are implemented in the program.

Ensures that technical procedures are followed, and tools of industry standard are applied
, Has up to date knowledge and ensure same for department in the area of technologies, clean rooms, HVAC and energy efficient systems, process control, automation and digitalization
, Has up-to-date knowledge about relevant internal regulations; assures compliance with Company policies
, Tightly cooperate with Digital Community Experts and particularly with the Digital Community Tech Ops Champion to drive implementation of IT platforms increasingly efficiency and reduce time to market
, Develop/Lead through his/her group of SME the Corporate Plant Sustainability & Facility of The Future/Smart Factories COPs
, Leading of projects and corporate design team and responsible for managing project budgets as well as man-hours and expenses budget and schedule of works for the section/unit
, Act as a leader and as role model to promote Corporate Engineering vision, strategy, standards, practices and tools
, Meets all mobility demands to perform duties and/or fulfil responsibilities of the job.
