Job Description

Our Residential Support Workers are key members of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people.

Through a warm, welcoming and relaxed approached within a structured environment, you will encourage our young people to develop social, educational and practical skills to lead a fulfilling life set in beautiful surroundings.

Due to the rural location of the home near Ross-On-Wye, the successful candidate will need to hold a full driving license.

Our Residential Support Workers get involved with:


  • Being the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
  • Managing the well-being and behavior of young people ensuring behaviour's are addressed promptly and sensitively
  • Supporting our young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behavior
  • Playing a pivotal role in the young persons day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies and advocating their needs
  • Supporting and encouraging educational engagement including homework and behavioural support within the education setting.

Successful applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behavior.

Our home uses a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need and this may include working some weekends and bank holidays.

The children’s home can accommodate a maximum of five young people of either gender usually ranging in age from 9 - 18 years.

The home places high value on relationships with and between young people and staff and it is these relationships that are central to the work that is undertaken with the young people.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.

References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.

Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our schools.
