House Manager - Care Leavers

We have a House Manager opportunity working with one of the most reputable care leavers providers in the area.

You will be working in one of their 3-bedroom homes supporting young care leavers aged 16 - 19 with complex needs including mental health difficulties, drug, alcohol and substance misuse, emotional behavioural difficulties, and challenging behaviours.


I am looking for a House Manager or experienced Deputy Manager in Southampton who has excellent knowledge of managing a home to a high degree in a regulated environment (OFSTED/CQC)


Working as a House Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service including providing professional support, guidance, and supervision to the staff team.

Responsibilities of the House Manager include:



  • The House Manager will ensure young people receive excellent levels of emotional and physical care, within a home that offers a safe, nurturing, and comfortable environment with a supportive staff team

  • To lead and manage both employees and resources to ensure high standards of service are achieved within the home, exceeding standards.

  • To manage the budget of the home and ensure the business remains viable and to meet and exceed the key performance indicators for people, quality, and performance.

  • To take overall responsibility for the management and leadership of the home as the House Manager in charge, promoting high standards of care in line with regulatory bodies.


Requirements of the House Manager include:



  • Experience working with young people in a residential or semi-independent setting with emotional behavioural difficulties, mental health difficulties including drug, alcohol, and substance misuse.

  • Previous experience working as a Registered Manager, House Manager, Service Manager or Deputy Manager in a similar setting

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, personalised care plans and therapeutic approaches

  • Excellent knowledge of running service in a regulated environment (OFTED/CQC)

  • Diploma Level 5 Leadership and Management
