About this role:


For this role we require someone who is responsible for Next Generation Access, Copper, and Poling Portfolio.

Experience within telecoms is not essential.


The role in a nutshell:
Understanding of stock management & demand forecasting to meet business requirements and objectives.

Responsible for stock & storage management of the organisations NGA stock portfolio and that of external customers.

Analysis of the effectiveness of inventory strategy and stocking policies.

Recommending improvements.

This is a leadership role with 1 direct report.


Key Objectives:



  • E2E lifecycle management of hundreds of items that sit under the NGA activity, on the copper & poles portfolio.


  • Understanding the demand across the business for various items eg: infrastructure build, the safety of people & provision and repair.

  • Understand the moving parts of the business, how they work, how they influence the stock and working capital, linking it up & joining the dots.

  • Experience within data strategy.

  • Predictions on working capital whilst matching with supply.

  • Innovation - doing things differently? How can you change the mindset of individuals within a complex matrix type environment?

  • Supporting the improvement of E2E stores, forecasting and tracking - liaising with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure the kit is fit for purpose and in line with key strategic programmes.

  • Working in collaboration with stakeholders, program managers across the business, and suppliers.


Education
, Bachelor's degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience) preferable


Accountabilities:



  • To own the supply chain forecasting capability and E2E management of the NGA portfolio, to help ensure the right stock is in the right place at the right time, and at the right cost, for BAU demand as well as project initiatives.

  • To identify risks and opportunities, taking the initiative within discreet strategic and planning areas, ensuring alignment with operations' requirements.

  • To lead the collection, collation, analysis and presentation of information to senior management, on behalf of the whole organisation.

  • To lead external/internal benchmarking activities in support of improvement initiatives.

  • Supports on the analysis and tracking of budget/forecast to ensure that Central Finance and Supply Chain have the relevant information and tools in place to manage the wider store's requirement to avoid stock-outs of critical items and unnecessary stock holdings.

  • To continually improve E2E stores forecasting and ordering process for the NGA portfolio - liaising with Engineering, Health & Safety and Operational teams where necessary to ensure the process is fit for purpose.

  • Challenge costs and highlight/track cost-saving opportunities.


We will review applications of professionals outwith the telecoms sector if other essential criteria is met.

Part of the agenda for this role is to find someone with a "fresh pair of eyes" and potentially new innovative ways of working, thus product knowledge is secondary.
