Production Supervisor

Based in Yate, North Bristol, our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of inks and varnishes to label printers across the world.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join their dynamic team. 

This permanent position will be well suited to an individual that has proven developed skills at leading teams in a manufacturing environment and is keen to develop and mentor others.

People management will be at the forefront of your role.   Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading 3 teams of approximately 18 people across several manufacturing areas.

Your role will be to oversee the daily tasks and organisation of our production department, working with the team leaders to co-ordinate and deliver the daily scheduled plan of production.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:


  •  To support the Production Manager by maintaining effectiveness of the day to day performance of the production floor to meet customer demand.
  •  Effectively manage your team through strong leadership and motivation to achieve outstanding performance in all disciplines including Quality,  GMP, H & S, PPM, 6S, LEAN, to achieve operational objectives and KPI targets.
  • Demonstrate role model leadership, ensuring accountability.
  • Continued development of our team leaders through mentorship, empowerment and support to produce a motivated, high performing team.
  • Performance management by planning, establishing, monitoring, reviewing and evaluating organisational, functional, team and individual performance.
  • Lead and manage equipment and labour resources as required to deliver production plan execution to agreed schedules.
  • Carry out Quality, Health & Safety, 6S audits and inspections.
  • Assist in Customer complaint & Non-Conformance resolutions through timely Investigation, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective & Preventative Actions.

Skills & Experience:


  • You will have a strong background knowledge within manufacturing with a broad knowledge in production planning and processes.
  • Proven skills in leadership and mentoring others.
  • Strong developed communication skills enabling you to create a motivational and encouraging environment where people want to follow you.
  • Strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to recognise, respond and manage changes to your vision and plan.
  • Positive attitude being self-motivated and organised.
  • Goal oriented, with the ability to work under demanding conditions.

Permanent position; 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day Monday to Friday – days

Starting salary - £25,000 – £30,000 plus dependant on experience.

25 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays and pension scheme.
