The Company:

Our client is one of the oldest established firms of Chartered Surveyors, Estate Agents, Auctioneers & Valuers in Cornwall and currently looking for a rural practice chartered surveyor, based in the city of Truro, offering professional services with a personal approach.

They are an Estate & Letting Agents specialising in farmhouses & cottages, country smallholdings, farms, land and commercial property throughout region as well as Farm & machinery auctions, antiques, Fine art & general furniture auctions, liquidation & bankruptcy sales.

valuations for mortgages and secured lending, tax, probate and Inheritance tax purposes as well as agricultural tenancies, utilities and compensation claims etc.

Essential Skills and Experience:

We are looking for a motivated, flexible and passionate Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor, ideally with previous experience in the field, or otherwise keen to transfer their skills and knowledge into a new setting and has the following skills and experience:

* RICS qualification or training towards RICS qualification.

* An organised approach with attention to detail.

* A strong rural background with a practical understanding of agriculture.

* Good communication skills and confidence in dealing with clients and fellow professionals in a professional manner.

* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

* Good computer skills

* Full UK Drivers Licence and own transport

* Superb communication skills.

* An organised approach with attention to detail.

* Previous experience preferred but not essential for the right candidate

Roles and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will primarily be involved in the valuation of residential and rural property but also a spectrum of property services including:

* Valuations of Rural and Residential property for secured loan, taxation, estate planning, dispute purposes.

* Sales and letting of rural and commercial property including cottages, farms, smallholdings, land, shops, offices and industrial premises

* Compensation claims against Utility Companies

* Preparation of Farm Business Tenancy Agreements, Grazing Licences, etc.

* Rural Planning.

* Basic Payment and Stewardship
