IT Service Desk Technician

We are looking for an additional IT Service Desk Technician for our exciting customer.

You will be joining a dedicated team of IT support staff from a range of backgrounds with one thing in common, a real passion for delivering high quality, reliable and maintainable systems.

The primary aim of this role is to ensure that all staff in this rapidly growing company are provided with the best IT services possible!


Key Accountabilities:



  • First point of contact for all IT Support queries both internally and externally

  • Day to day support for 250-300 desk-based (across 7 office locations) and remote users

  • Management and distribution of helpdesk tickets

  • Asset Management

  • 1st line technical support

  • Change control processes

  • Software management

  • Documentation process / Knowledgebase


Qualifications and Experience Required:



  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows from XP to Windows 10

  • Microsoft Office 2013/2016

  • PC & Laptop Hardware knowledge

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • VPN both mobile user and site to site

  • Anti-Virus solutions, implementation and analysis

  • Office 365 experience

  • IP based telephony systems


Would be an advantage to have but NOT essential:



  • Microsoft qualifications (Windows OS / Server OS)

  • Microsoft Windows server exposure

  • Experience of using an ITSM platform - preferably ‘Hornbill'

  • Clear understanding of Active Directory

  • Understanding of DHCP/DNS/TCP IP

  • Ability to build strong support relationships with others

  • Ability to remain focused during extremely busy periods

  • Able to prioritise workloads and recognise system demands

  • Ability to work to targets and deadlines

  • Good communication skills (both written and oral)

  • Good organisation skills

  • Personal time management
