Project Reporting Accountant

A rewarding Project Reporting Accountant position has arisen with a market-leading organisation based in Plymouth.


Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will be working as part of a small collaborative team and be responsible for preparing financial analysis for projects on a monthly basis.

Duties and responsibilities:



  • Prepare accurate monthly project budget reports for approval by the Head of Finance before forwarding to budget holders.

  • Liaise with funding bodies and/or Auditors with regard to project claims, ensuring all queries are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Preparation of the funds summary at the year-end.

  • Assist with year-end closure of accounts including Balance sheet account reconciliation and the production of schedules.

  • Assist with the Annual Accounts audit answering Auditors queries on their visits.

  • Provide financial analysis and management reports as required.

  • Assist the Head of Finance as required preparing quarterly accounts and ad-hoc reports.

  • Assist with Month end and across the Finance Dept.

    as required.


In order to be considered, you must have the following:



  • Ideally, be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified, or at least studying towards the latter stages of the aforementioned qualifications or with extensive, proven accounting experience.

  • Previous and demonstrable experience of working in a similar position.

  • The role involves a lot of financial analysis, an inquisitive mind with a desire to solve problems is a must.

  • Excellent knowledge of Sage & Excel skills (experience of Pivot Tables and V-lookups).
