Senior HR Advisor

We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Advisor to join an international engineering and manufacturing organisation based in the Huddersfield area.

The position offers fantastic opportunities for both personal and career progression.

Working closely with the HR Manager you will have the opportunity to gain a wide range of exposure to all aspects of HR, whilst providing a first-class HR Service to the business.

This is a fast paced and varied generalist role which will involve providing advice on HR matters and supporting with discipline, grievance and performance/change management.

What do you need to apply:

  • Qualified to CIPD Level 5 (minimum) or Level 7, ideally supported with CIPD membership

  • Be confident in building relationships with managers and the leadership team.

  • Experience working within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment.

  • Confidence to deliver training to internal staff, including Senior Management.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Extensive working knowledge of HR processes and procedures.

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS best practices.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 1.45pm finish

Key Duties:

  • Act as a first point of contact for HR related queries, providing advice and guidance and escalating issues to the HR manager where appropriate

  • Support HR Manager in relation to complex Employee Relations issues

  • Assist in production and delivery of training material to staff, including Management

  • Take the lead on specific projects in line with organisational requirements and personal objectives

  • Conduct health Reviews, disciplinaries, grievances and appeals processes

  • Proactively contribute ideas in order to continuously improve the HR function

  • Required to use information technology on a regular basis to input and maintain the HR T&A system and to generate various correspondence

  • Report on key HR metrics including employee retention, turnover rates and headcount reports

  • Guiding and supporting the HR team and demonstrating your professional courage and influence

  • Conducting inductions for new starters on their first day.
