IT Support Engineer - VMware / Active Directory - 100% Remote

IT support / VMware / AD / Active directory / solutions / Microsoft / server / engineer / remote

IT Support Engineer required for a top Solutions business based London.

You will be working with cutting-edge technologies such as server and desktop virtualisation platforms, hyperconverged infrastructure, secure remote access software, multi-site server and storage deployments, and backup/replication/DR solutions.

The ideal candidate for this role will be passionate about technology, have worked within a similar position before and have with excellent knowledge of virtualisation platforms.

You must also be comfortable working remotely, meaning access to a reliable broadband connection at home (5Mbps or better) and a suitable environment to work from, including space to run multiple monitors and occasional server equipment.

This role will be long term 100% remote.

• Providing support to existing and potential customers.


• Working with colleagues to deploy new systems and solutions.


• Developing bespoke internal solutions to solve unique challenges.


• Documenting solutions and helping support them effectively.


• Growing and sharing own skills and knowledge to benefit the team and the company.

Key Skills

• Experienced in Windows servers and desktops (Server 2012/2016/2019, Windows 10)


• Comfortable managing a Windows domain, particularly working with all aspects of Active Directory and Group Policy.


• Experience with hypervisor-based virtualisation and associated technologies, VMware vSphere of particular benefit.


• An understanding of core networking technologies - IPs, Gateways, Subnets, DNS, DHCP, etc.


• Experience working with server and storage (e.g.
  
  SAN) infrastructure.


• Excellent communication skills
