, The manager is looking for the position to be filled ASAP

Daily Duties:
You will work within a small private supported living service caring for 8 residents with learning disabilities.

The service users may also be autistic and present mild to moderate/severe challenging behaviour some may also also have communication difficulties also.

Your role be to support these individuals to live as independently as possible.

Complex needs can include:
, Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
, Asperger's Syndrome
, Bipolar Disorder
, Depression
, Downs Syndrome
, Epilepsy
, Personality Disorder
, Schizophrenia
, Speech and Language Difficulties

As a support worker you will provide high quality and compassionate care to the service users to empower, encourage and teach individuals to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible.
Daily duties include but are not limited to:
, Providing physical, emotional, spiritual and social support to service users
, Working closely with staff and tenants in promoting individual packages of care that reflect the person's chosen lifestyle
, Both personal care and participation in activities
, Supporting tenants in leisure, education and employment services inside and outside of the home
, Supporting tenants as much as possible to undertake household chores, including planning and pre-paring meals
, Assisting tenants in maintaining their personal hygiene where necessary
, Participating in training opportunities to gain a wide understanding of tenants' needs and disabilities
, Giving medication as required
, Completing written reports and notes
, Supporting tenants accessing benefits e.g.

housing benefit, income support, DLA etc

The service provides 24/7 residential support featuring a specialist learning disability adviser and a team of specialist autism advisers.

Person specification:
Recent relevant experience and must be DBS cleared.
