Youth Worker - Young Care Leavers


Youth Worker needed in Reading to support young care leavers at 16+ years - 21 hours per week on a Temporary to Permanent assignment.


You will be required to work across 2 homes, supporting vulnerable young people with challenging behaviour, mental health, substance misuse, self-harm, low self esteem issues.


You must be able to work the following shifts:


8:00-15:00


15:00-22:00


22:00-23:00 + sleep-in

Responsibilities for you as the Youth Worker:



  • Supporting young people with day to evening routines, activities, personal care/hygiene, increasing independence, and supporting with meal prep.

  • Working closely with clients, staff, families, and other relevant professionals

  • Consistently promoting independence to young people

  • Light cleaning/laundry duties around the home where necessary



Requirements for you as the Youth Worker:



  • Enhanced DBS Child & Adult on the update service

  • Experience working with children and young people

  • Encouraging and supportive attitude

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care desirable



Location - Reading


Pay: £8.50-£10.50 per hour
