Location: 50% Central London & 50% home based

About the Role

As a Software Engineer you will use your expertise and skills to help the team build and deliver their next generation products and services.

You will work across a number of projects and development streams.

Tech challenges you will solve

You will work with cutting edge technologies utilising Cloud services predominantly on AWS but it is expected to get involved in other platforms such as Azure or GCP too.

You will be exposed to back-end and DevOps work using Python and tools such as Cloudformation, the AWS Serverless Application Model, Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI and more. 

Their development covers low latency RESTful web APIs, Serverless back-end jobs, real-time search using geodemographic data and integration of multiple Cloud solutions and services serving Single Customer View implementations.

They follow Microservices design patterns and develop their systems to be scalable, secure and resilient. 

Your role will involve understanding their data products and services, and the entire technology stack used to implement them.

You will help them fulfil their Development Roadmaps and ensure that their applications run efficiently and effectively on their Cloud infrastructure.

Skills and Experience: – Must Haves

  • 3 - 4 years’ experience developing commercial software in Python
  • 3 - 4 years’ experience working on commercial solutions deployed on AWS
  • A proven track record with code samples
  • Experience with all phases of the application development lifecycle
  • Experience with RESTful API development
  • Experience with Serverless development such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with an RDBMS database and a NoSQL database such as MongoDB
  • Experience with CI/CD such as Gitlab or Jenkins

Desirable Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience with the AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM)
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis

As the role is one of growth they would expect the successful candidate to continuously develop it, as well as deliver projects within tight deadlines while maintaining high standards.

You will be reactive and proactive in equal measures, and have the ability to assimilate information quickly.
