Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

Are you an experienced Support Worker within Adult Social Care desiring a new opportunity in West Berkshire?


I am seeking experienced Support Workers and Carers to join my current workforce as regular employees for a Supported Living service in Newbury working with adults with Learning Disabilities.


This position although on a temporary basis will offer the opportunity to a flexible individual to pick up regular shifts each week including block booking each month in advance.

Shift patterns - Monday - Sunday:


Days: 7.00-22.00 / 7.00-15.00 / 15.00-22.00


WN: 21.45 - 7.15


Pay:


£9.00 - £12 per hour (subject to payment and shift type)


Requirements for you as the Support Worker:



  • Enhanced DBS (on the update service)

  • Prior experience supporting vulnerable adults with a range of learning disabilities

  • Experience or awareness with Autism and Epilepsy is desirable

  • Former experience within a Supported Living environment promoting independence

  • Excellent communication skills including reading and writing

  • Ability to learn and pick up tasks quickly

  • Considerate and flexible with working hours /days

  • Committed - there are regular shifts for this service available for hard working individuals

  • Up-to-date mandatory training

  • Clean Valid UK Driver (Desirable)


Responsibilities for you as the Support Worker:



  • Supporting service users with daily needs

  • Encouraging and supportive approach to get the service users active with daily tasks and events

  • Working closely with service users, staff, families, and other relevant professionals

  • Following service user care plans

  • Consistently promoting independence to service users
