Panel Wirer

Are you a skilled electrical machine builder or Panel Wirer looking to join an innovative engineering manufacturer who are market leaders in their chosen field for the supply of special purpose machinery?

Our client based in BARNSLEY South Yorkshire have a requirement for a skilled panel builder / panel wirer due to an increase in workload.

The role/ responsibilities of a Panel Wirer / Machine Builder

The appointed Panel Wirer or Machine Builder will be assembling and building a range of electrical parts of special purpose machinery from scratch, experience of Electrical installation would be beneficial.

You will Identify components from locations, follow and interpret electrical engineering drawings and work from instructions to assemble machine parts and machines.

The Panel Wirer should ideally have previous experience of building special purpose machinery and building panels.


  • Building new machinery according to engineering drawings and build instructions

  • Post build testing of completed machinery and subsections of machinery

  • Experience of working within a multi -skilled environment (i.e.

    knowledge of electrical and mechanical components)

  • Responsible for the general cleanliness and care of personal area and that of the main workshop

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical engineering drawings

  • Combined education and on-the-job training within an engineering background.

  • Apprentice trained engineer Minimum HNC qualified in relevant electrical engineering

About you:

  • To be successful for this Panel Wiring role, you'll have previous experience gained from carrying out a similar role, having competent knowledge of the technical electrical aspects of machine build, including some mechanical and pneumatic engineering.

Whats on offer:

This role is offered on an ongoing temporary basis paying a competitive hourly rate of between £12ph to £15ph depending on experience, overtime paid at 1.5 after the standard hours are worked (Overtime dependent on workload)

Working over 4 days Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 5.30pm.
