Conveyancing Paralegal

Are you a residential conveyancing paralegal, assistant or post completions paralegal? Do you want to join a very rapidly expanding business which operates in the residential property sector?

You could be one of the first in-house legal assistants in a brand-new property function within the Group based on the outskirts of Doncaster.

Your main responsibilities will be dealing with all post-completion matters as transactions are forwarded to you from the in-house conveyancers.

In particular, you must be able to deal with the prompt completion and submission of an SDLT Return and Land Registry application (AP1s and FR1s) with minimal supervision.

You will need to be confident in handling Land Registry requisitions as and when they arise.

Your duties will also include preparing and submitting post-registration packages for the Group in an appropriate format and you will be shown what is required in this regard.

You will also be expected to provide general administrative support to the conveyancers, so a broad understanding of the conveyancing process as a whole, would be desirable.

Therefore, if you also have experience of pre-completion matters, that would be an advantage.

IT literacy is important because you will be required to help with electronic diary management and a developing property management system for key critical dates such as completion, priority search and SDLT deadlines.

You will have a pleasant, helpful manner and be able to liaise with other teams within the Group structure and external parties.

You will be able to prepare basic, non-technical emails and letters to assist in the smooth running of the department.

This is a fast-paced environment where your attention to detail and an eye on timescales is critical.

You will need to be organised and proactive, with an ability to prioritise work independently.

You will be joining a newly recruited Head of Legal with a background in both private practice and in-house commercial and residential property transactions, and a conveyancer.

This is your opportunity to demonstrate that you are motivated and proactive and would be willing and able to help shape the department.

The Group is looking to expand further in the future, so there are good opportunities for career progression.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to do something completely different.

We would welcome applications from existing paralegals, and legal assistants with around a year's experience in a similar role.
