School Covid-19 Testing Operatives

Covid-19 Testing Operatives wanted for various secondary schools in Lancashire, such as;

  • Preston

  • Blackburn

  • Burnley

  • Darwen

  • Leyland and Chorley

  • Accrington

  • Clitheroe

  • Blackpool

The role would be suitable for school based staff, such as admin, teaching assistants, cover supervisors, teachers, welfare and leaning staff

To provide a range of operational and administrative tasks to facilitate ongoing Covid-19 mass testing of staff and students.

Contract Type
Casual/supply - hours as required by the school

£9.80 per hour

Duties and responsibilities

Dependent on the needs of the school, Operatives may fulfil all or some of the following tasks.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing needs will be required in order to ensure that the testing process is as efficient as possible.

  • Assist with the setup of the test sites on a daily basis (Mon-Fri).

  • Assist Team Leader with testing schedules.

  • Assist with orderly processing of tests and remind attendees about health and hygiene measures (social distancing, hand hygiene etc.)

  • Register staff and students for Covid-19 lateral flow tests (LFTs).

  • Provide staff and students with advice and guidance on the self-administration of the LFTs.

  • Collect completed swabs and process in accordance with procedures.

  • Prepare test samples for analysis, conduct processing of LFTs and interpret results.

  • Collect and record LFTs.

    Track and administer all associated documentation.

  • Input test results to digital solution.

  • Clean test bays as required and collect and dispose of clinical waste in accordance with procedures.

General Duties

  • To comply with all working procedures in respect of health and safety, data protection and safeguarding

  • To demonstrate positive personal and professional behaviour and to handle all personal data in a confidential and secure manner;

Operatives will be required to undertake initial training and induction and any additional training needed to fulfil the role.

You will also be required to wear full PPE and be able to communicate effectively with children.

  • Previous experience working in a school environment

  • A full, enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service

  • Experience of effectively working in a team and carrying out a diverse range of tasks

  • Be available for shifts from the 8th of March
