HSE Manager

Responsibilities of the HSE Manager;



  • To be the overall lead and GB expert for Safety, Security, Health and Environmental matters to ensure legislative compliance within the business - lead the SHE teams across various UK locations and influence the management teams to sustain and improve SHE standards.

  • To promote best practice for the management of EH&S to achieve continuous improvement in performance and proactively lead UK EH&S activities

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all relevant EHS.

    In particular detailed knowledge of COMAH regulations and the Health, Safety and Environmental expectations in assessment of MAHs, Human Factors Analysis, Safety Integrity of Control Systems, DSEAR, PUWER, ALARP, COSHH

  • In conjunction with the Site Leadership team ensure that programmes of work are identified and pursued to ensure compliance with the above regulations and Health & Safety Executive and the Environment Agency expectations.

    Much of the work may be executed by other functions on site but it is essential that the EHS Manager leads and drives this activity

  • Engage in a personal and career development programme to aid in progression through the company.


To be successful in this position as HSE Manager, an established technical background with experience in a production or operations environment on a COMAH site within chemical or Chemical manufacturing would be beneficial.

Some experience of directly managing a Health, Safety and Environment programme will be key to this role.
