Trainee Service Technician

Excellent opportunity to join a local, established business.

As Trainee Service Technician your prime role will be to support the engineering team on the build, repair and calibration of the emission testing equipment.

This is a full time, permanent role, based in Banbury, standard office hours Monday to Friday offering a starting salary of circa £19,000

Main Responsibilities for the Trainee Service Technician:

• Carrying out technical assembly of diagnostic machines


• Supporting in house engineers with repairs and calibrations


• Dealing with customer enquiries


• Carrying out servicing and calibration visits with local clients


• Producing sub assembly elements


• Completing appropriate paperwork, passing for action if required


• Maintaining accurate records for parts and all of the necessary documentation


• Reporting any problems with quality, processes or materials


• Liaising with other departments where necessary

Required Skills, Experience, Knowledge, Competencies for the Trainee Service Technician:

• A background in mechanical electronic engineering


• Technical experience working within an engineering role


• Worked with customers as part of a role providing advice and support


• Strong attention to detail


• Physical and manually dexterous due to the small components being assembled


• Ability to work to deadlines


• Clean driving licence, over 22 years of age, held a licence over 18 months (to meet with insurance criteria)


• Demonstrative experience of:


• Ability to work accurately, logically, methodically with effective time management skills


• Strong relationship building skills and the ability to cover other roles within the warehouse


• Be an effective team player and an effective communicator - verbally and in writing - within and outside the organisation
