An exciting career opportunity working as a Test Engineer, positioned central to the development life-cycle, critical to project & service delivery, driving the quality assurance agenda.

Working as part of a multi-functional team you will be responsible for adopting and improving the organisational technical test strategy.

Implementing test procedures, maximising existing tools, evaluating new solutions and driving best practice.

In the Test Engineer role responsibilities will include:

  • Functional and non-functional testing across diverse software and services.

  • Contributing to preparation, maintenance and execution of both Manual and Automated test cases

  • Reviewing requirements from a ‘testability' perspective

  • Providing test support from small bug fixes to enterprise solutions

  • Contributing to Test plans, Test report and Test documentation

  • Conducting Cross browser testing on a variety of platforms

  • Log and resolve Test defects

  • Working within Agile practices

  • Contribute to Sprints, Retrospectives and Daily stand-ups

  • Contribute to best practice, and process improvement

To be a successful Test Engineer you will need experience of:

Core - essential

  • Practical career experience of up to date testing methodologies inc BDD & TDD

  • Practical career experience of Exploratory Testing

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile life-cycle and components such as Sprints, Retrospectives and Stand-ups

  • Practical career experience of Cross Browser Testing to include hands on experience of Browserstack, Saucelabs or Applitools

  • Practical career experience of Defect Management using Jira or similar

  • Project knowledge of various Web platforms

  • Career experience of choosing fit for purpose test approaches and plans

  • Excellent verbal and written communications

Desirable - ideally two or more of below, with other areas leading to opportunities for cross training and personal technical progression

  • Experience testing in a Continuous Integration environment, delivering development pipelines

  • Practical experience of scripting with Java, JavaScript, C# etc

  • Building and executing automated tests with Selenium, Ranorex, Cypress, Nightwatch

  • Understanding and experience of Web testing considerations such as Performance, Security, Accessibility

  • ISTQB Certification

In return, the successful applicant will receive a salary linked to experience and practical knowledge ranging from £30,000 - £35,000 with an extensive benefits package including market leading pension options, lifestyle benefits, employee assistance and extensive holidays.

Critically this is a work environment characterised by flexibility with regards to working hours and practices, blended between working from home and working from the office with multiple locations to choose from.

(Currently covid remote, being in the office in “normal” time would be targeted at 2 or 3 days a week.)
