IT Support Engineer

2nd / 3rd Line IT Support Engineer London (W1) up to £40k p.a.

Hands on role for experienced 2nd / 3rd Line IT Support Engineer running on site service desk and providing on call service for large and successful London based company.

The Role

As IT Support Engineer you will be part of the team responsible for the day to day running of service desk provision for colleagues, core business applications & infrastructure, acting as escalation point for the IT Team.

Providing support both on site during office hours and on an on-call rota basis out of hours, your responsibilities will include:

  • daily support of IT Systems / Networks / Firewalls / Wi-Fi

  • assisting in delivery of new systems

  • service desk and incident management support (face-to-face and remote)

  • auditing and compliance reporting

  • setting up new joiners / provisioning of new equipment (Windows & Macs laptops)

  • licence and asset management (Office 365, laptops, desktops, tablets, servers etc)

This role offers the flexibility to mix working from home with on-site working.

Our London based client is building their in-house IT Support team for their head office.

It is home to a fast growing and diverse workforce.

The Person

As IT Support Engineer you have experience as hands on IT Engineer / Service Desk Lead with working knowledge of networking fundamentals.

Ideally you are qualified - ITIL Foundation 4, Cloud, Azure, Networking.

With strong communication & customer service skills you will also have:

  • knowledge of DHCP / DNS / IP Subnetting / VLANS, Router, Switches

  • server virtualisation experience within VMware and Hyper-V

  • working knowledge of remote desktop services, Microsoft RDS

  • experience of IT Change Management and IT Service Transition from projects to BAU

  • working knowledge of Jira & Fresh Service

  • Ruckus, Medusa, Threatspike, Sophos, FortiGate, Palo Alto

  • Office 365, Zoom, SharePoint
