Design Draughtsperson

State of the art facility with over 50 years experience in the design and manufacture of bepoke fabricated products.

Due to continued growth, we are now looking for a Design Draughtsperson (CAD /Solidwork) to support in the development and delivery of design projects.

Design Technician

  • Work within our engineering design team to help support the development of new products and concept which will enable internal or external component manufacture.

  • Produce accurate component and general assembly drawings in RADAN 2D/3D from a variety of sources such as design drawings or sketches.

  • Produce general arrangement drawings which will be used for customer approval.

  • Work on designs that will be influenced by various engineering disciplines such as sheet metal fabrication, machining and welding.

  • Support of the delivery of safe, innovative and robust engineering designs and solutions.

    On time, on budget and in line with current legislation and company standards.

  • Capable of creating and compiling technical files and associated documentations

  • Work closely with the Design Office Manager and project team to prioritise work.

  • Take ownership and accountability of small-scale projects, from concept through to completion.

    Including (but not limited to) feasibility studies, initial concept designs, detailed designs, initial cost estimates, detailed quotes, resource planning, budget planning and control, tendering, installation and commissioning.


  • Proficient in RADAN 2D/3D.

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D an advantage but not essential.

  • Ideally, 2+ years' experience working in a sheet steel environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of sheet steel folding and press brake operation.

  • Experience nesting components for sheet optimisation & planning.

  • Demonstrable ability of producing technically correct and compliant engineering drawings and design solutions.

  • An understanding and experience of engineering calculations and specifications.

  • A keen eye for bespoke design and innovation.

  • Work well within a team or alone.

  • Have good communication skills.

  • Be confident with numbers.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a “can do” attitude.

  • An enthusiastic team player who can build relationships with peers.
