Outside IR35 - 6-12-month contract.

This Buyer role is an excellent opportunity to join one of the markets leading Petrochemical manufacturing companies in the UK.

They are offering the successful candidate an opportunity to join a top-tier COMAH site employing over 1,000 people, becoming a pivotal part of the Procurement team throughout the duration of this 6-12-month contract.

Joining the team as Buyer on a 6-12 Contract basis means working with a market leader to define, analyse, develop sourcing strategy for the relevant category of spend associated to the delivery of the project.

On-going management of category and supplier base and work with internal Stakeholders through-out the requisition to pay process to ensure best value for the business.

Responsibilities of the successful Buyer:

  • Implementation and management of a strategic category structure via clear Business Plans (BBP) and contract pipelines.

  • Be able to work in a Joint venture environment and engage with multiple stakeholders including the Governments partners

  • Management and completion of all requests for quotations and approaches to market from site for all spend related to the category.

  • Post Award management of all Contracts

  • Develop and maintain required (management) reports and spend analysis and report value improvements.

  • Be able to analyse complex commercial modelling and make recommendations to the Board

  • Communicate and manage relationship with suppliers, stakeholders including the JV partners

  • Responsible for contract strategy & award including Board papers for review

  • Participate in process and cost improvement activities.

    This includes participation or leading LEAN, Waste Elimination or Six Sigma projects and coaching the business organization with use of contracts.

Based at the companies site in Runcorn, the successful Buyer will ideally have a relevant technical or business degree alongside Purchasing experience.

It would also be an advantage to be working towards or have achieved a CIPS Professional Diploma.

Knowledge of SAP ERP Systems would be a strong skillset for potential candidates.

Working as a temporary Buyer alongside salary the candidate will also have the opportunity to secure performance related bonus up to 10%, 10% non-contributory pension, private health care, life assurance.
