The Data modelling and analysis manager will perform analysis and insight to support forecasting activities, will contribute towards defining major targets (e.g.

revenue, market share) for the business.

The commercial demand forecast for this business has a direct and material impact on resourcing decisions, costs and revenue generation in short medium and long term.

The role holder will work closely with teams across the business and have recognised visibility with the Operational units, providing analytical expertise and insight into the impact of the commercial forecast on various aspects of the business.

The data modelling and analysis manager will also support input for the development of business cases, sensitivity scenarios, etc related to rapidly scaling in a challenging and uncertain economic environment.


  • To be seen as the lead within demand modelling and analysis

  • To maintain, update and improve the existing suite of models used by the team using a number of different analytical programmes

  • To develop new analysis and models to help the business eg by improving forecasting accuracy, supporting commercial and operational decision making, providing information to the regulator

  • To gain a full understanding of the data available regarding relevant products and request data where required for specific analysis and reporting

  • To gain a good understanding of both the marketplace and the delivery process for products

  • Develop forecasts and analysis based on key value drivers and analytical insight

  • Build complex model using statistical software (e.g.

    Python), utilising fully the the wealth of database knowledge available, presenting outputs to understand trends and to inform improved forecasting

  • Use insight derived from complex models, communicating to forecasting teams, strategy and commercial to inform decision making

  • Develop ad hoc analysis as required to support decision making, support the forecasting process

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have

  • Strong SQL and Excel skills, with ideally working knowledge of Python

  • Five or more years' experience working with data

  • An interest or understanding of the industries and professional services offered across consultancy

  • Aspirations of managing a team of analysts

  • Demonstrable experience presenting insights to stakeholders and clients

  • Ability to perform advanced statistical analysis using large data sets.

    Able to draw conclusions and make recommendations on the basis of the analysis

  • Ability to communicate the results of complex analysis in a simple and straightforward way and in a business context

  • Able to manage large quantities of information without losing sight of the big picture

  • Familiar with analytical techniques such as logistic regression, survival modelling and time series analysis

  • Knowledge of statistical software packages as well as Excel
