Finance Assistant

Come and become a Finance Assistant in one of the best offices on the planet, working with one of the best companies you could hope to be employed by.

That's a bold statement, I know.

So, let me explain…

I'll start with the office…located on the bank of the river just outside Henley-on-Thames our headquarters are simply breath-taking and as someone who's worked in them for nearly 10 years, the view as you walk outside of the glass frontage never gets boring.

It's stunning in fact, so much so that during lockdown it was sorely missed by pretty much everyone who works in them.

Now to the business.

Practicus is an innovative, successful, growing and well-established recruitment business.

A quick review of our credit rating, our track record in the Institute of Interim Management annual survey over the last eight years, or a review of our website and social media presence will get you up to speed on our brand and the quality model that sits behind it.

We've won awards and we're a well-known and respected business by the Community of interims and clients that we serve.

Our purpose in life is ‘to help people manage change' and we do it with pride, passion and a great deal of care.

As for our culture, it's open, transparent, values-led, authentic, positive, we go the extra mile to deliver, we care about each other and those we support in our work, we're honest, continually learning and people describe us as ‘like a big family'.

We work hard, but we also like to have fun…and we are ‘One Team'…

So, what does this team need from the Finance Assistant?

You'll need to be able to keep our debtors within targets and make sure that appropriate credit checks are taking place to minimise the risk of bad debt.

You'll also need to manage effectively the complete company purchase ledger as well as all staff expenses.

Furthermore, you'll need to ensure that external payrolls are processed in a timely manner from payments through to sales invoice.

The kind of person we need will be fast paced, have the ability to build good relationships with both internal staff and external customers/suppliers.

Attention to detail is key, as is strong organisational and planning skills and the ability to consistently hit deadlines.

Flexible, articulate, proactive and personable…you will also need experience of Excel, Sage and MS Office.

This role would suit someone who is results and target driven - managing interim payroll, purchase ledger, monthly collection targets, ensuring overdue debts are kept to a minimum, staff expenses, supplier invoices…the list is significant and expectations are high.

In return we're offering the following package:

  • Salary £22.5k to £27k depending on experience

  • Range of benefits including 4pm finish on Friday, health plan, birthday day off on us, life-assurance plus much more

  • Opportunity for hybrid working

So, if you care deeply about the environment in which you work and the team you work with, then do your due diligence on Practicus…come and see the office and meet the team…there's only upside to seeing if our bold claims are true.
