Children's Residential Support Worker - Leicester City Council



Energetic person required to work as part of a team supporting disabled young people living in a Children's home.

Must have the ability to manage challenging behaviour and support personal care of young people.

Good verbal and written communication skills essential.



Experience/knowledge of disabilities and moving and handling preferred.



The facility is well run and focuses on ensuring that children achieve a good balance in life between education, care and learning valuable life skills.



Full Time - 37.5 hours


Pay Rate - £10.76 - £13.08 LTD per hour



You will be :-



  • Qualified Residential Support Worker

  • Ideally with some supervisory experience

  • Happy to help staff have an impact on the child's capacity to do well in education by supporting their homework

  • Used to working in a children's home

  • Able to demonstrate you have had an impact on the lives of the children you support

  • Happy to work on a shift pattern

  • Must be prepared to go the extra mile, through no fault of their own these children have some complex needs

  • Be creative, flexible and inspiring role model and support to the children and other staff

The ideal candidate will have:



  • Minimum L3 NVQ in Children's Care

  • Enhanced DBS

  • Experience as a working in residential work
