Senior Network Engineer

The company is looking to employ a Senior Network Engineer to work alongside the existing technical manager.

This is a multi-role position that offers an exciting opportunity with one of the industry’s leading companies.

The work is widely varied and operates within a fast-paced environment.

Objectives of the job:


  • The main objective of the role is to assist the technical manager with day-to-day installations, hardware configurations, staff support and team development
  • In addition to this, the role will include a level of customer facing support to be delivered to clients onsite at horse racing venues throughout the UK
  • The successful candidate will have a strong and proven understanding of TCIP, DNS, DHCP, network patching, routing, and configuration on a variety of equipment

Salary & Location:


  • Salary, negotiable depending on experience
  • Based in Yorkshire with Nationwide travel

Qualifications / Requirements:


  • GCSE or higher
  • C&G 3667 or equivalent (copper and fibre)
  • PASMA
  • IPAF 3a, 3b
  • CCNSG safety passport or equivalent
  • ECS/CSCS
  • Driver’s licence (full)
  • CCNA (desirable but not essential)
  • Fluke certified tester (desirable but not essential)

  • This is not your typical 9-5 role and requires a certain amount of travel, overnight stays and extended hours is to be expected.

    There is also a large element of weekend work due to the horse racing industries calendar
  • This is a physically demanding role in a variety of environments

Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Site surveys and creating drawings and bill of materials documentation
  • Installation of CAT5e, Cat6, Cat6a and fibre networks
  • Configuration of network hardware, Routers, switches, and wireless access points
  • Reviewing and creating improvement documentation for presentation to the board
  • Support for the RDT office network and staff
  • Development of the RDT popup network
  • Onsite customer service for RDT customers/clients/users
  • Daily reporting on all RDT admin
