Plant and Tool Hire Manager

TOOL AND PLANT HIRE MANAGER – ALFORD -  GOOD BASIC SALARY & EXCELLENT BENEFITS

Hire Manager required for our client who is a Leading Tool and Plant Hire company.

Our client is a members of The Hire Association Europe, they work hard to keep the highest standards in all their 130 branches around the country.

Their teams of highly competent, experienced and friendly staff pride themselves on providing up to date knowledge and supplying their customers with the right equipment.  

THE ROLE

Hire Managers are an integral part of the business, they make sure that they keep multiple plates spinning all at the same time.

If you’re good at multi-tasking then this could be the role for you.

You will be building and maintaining a profitable business by developing relationships with customers over the phone and face to face.

You will be expected to manage the team while also getting stuck in with servicing equipment and maintaining the high health and safety standards within the branch.


  • Your role as the Plant and Tool Hire Manager is to achieve Hire Budget and ongoing Hire KPI improvement
  • Promote the Hire and Sales business building customer relationships by both internal and external selling
  • Build a profitable business
  • Generate new customers, developing long lasting relationships
  • Run an efficient, safe and effective operation by properly managing your equipment and vehicle
  • All mandatory training is completed and it’s a safe place to work
  • Ensure all Hire related health and safety issues adhered to
  • Ensure the Hire transport operation, distribution and safety issues are operated within legal and company guidelines
  • Ensure Hire Fleet is maintained to the company standards
  • Manage the security of the hire business and safeguard against theft of company goods
  • Complete company reports, audits and stock takes as required
  • Complete other branch duties as part of the branch management team
  • You will be working from the Alford, Lincolnshire Branch

THE PERSON


  • The successful candidate will ideally have similar experience of plant and tool hire or related industry
  • Has great people skills
  • Is a good team player
  • Is good at planning and organising
  • Knows your way around a P&L in order to drive your business profitability
  • Has a current driving licence
  • You are mechanically minded
  • Live within a commutable distance to the Alford, Lincolnshire Branch
