Band 4 Therapy Assistant (ideal for OT/PT students!)

Maxxima is currently searching for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant to work in a Kent Community Rehabilitation team.

The ideal candidate will have previous expereince in a similar role, but candidates with other NHS care experience will be considered.

We are also interested in speaking to OT/PT 2nd or Final year students looking to gain some clinical experience!

Job Summary: KCHFT have commissioned rehabilitation beds in a nursing home setting, to support transfers of care from acute hospitals for patients who are not ready to return home, and need a period of rehabilitation, recovery and assessment.

The Therapy Assistant will work alongside qualified therapy staff to complete holistic assessments for patients with a wide variety of conditions, and support delivery of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy under direction of the registered healthcare professional.

To implement and evaluate therapy interventions, supporting the delivery of the Service.

Band 4s work closely with all users of our services and their families, friends and carers, who all play an invaluable contribution in how our users experience our services.

Band 4s are expected to be kind and responsive and professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the services provided A driving
full driving licence is required as the role will include undertaking visits to patients’ homes to assess the environment for the patients’ safe return.
 
Skills/Experience:   • Follow up Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of delegated caseload and escalating changes to the Registered Practitioner • To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high quality care to patients/clients • To undertake, and report back on delegated clinical activities that have previously been signed competent • To undertake clinical interventions utilising a variety of modes, including planning and leading group and individual therapy and issuing appropriate equipment as part of packages of prescribed care after achieving appropriate competencies.

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in relevant area • Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths) • Awareness of National Service Frameworks relevant to care setting and its application across health
care services • Effective communication skills both verbal and nonverbal.

Days & Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5

Pay: £12-17 p/h
