In House Employment Lawyer

Fantastic and rare opening for an Employment Solicitor to move In-house with a retail giant which is looking to expand its integral legal team.

Ideally, you'll have upwards of 4 years' PQE in employment law.


Although head quartered in the Midlands, this role can be conducted almost entirely remotely, meaning the residence of the individual is secondary to their experience and technical capabilities.


Reporting into the General Counsel, you will be the go-to person when it comes to supporting and advising the HR team (and other relevant stakeholders) on all areas of employment law including; ensuring compliance and consistency across the business, advising in relation to BAU and strategic HR projects and change programmes whilst mitigating risk/disruption to the business.

Working with the ER team you'll negotiate on and finalise settlement agreements and support with drafting and reviewing HR Policies and Procedures, as well as working with the external legal partners when needed to ensure the right decisions are made.


Where you will really add value is in your representation where needed at employment tribunals and liaising with the ER team, ensuring there is a continuous feedback loop in place to address root cause issues.

Advocacy skills are an absolute essential pre-requisite for this role and its likely you will pride yourself on being an expert on the tribunal process.
