Settlements Manager

Job Description:

Our client, a highly respectable asset management firm is recruiting a Settlements Manager to be responsible for all daily work and controls within both Settlements and Transfer Teams and ensuring AAF controls are adhered to across processes.

The Settlements Team sits within the wider Operations department.

The firm supports transformational change through a range of outsourced investment services to wealth managers, private banks, family offices and advisory businesses.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • CISI Operations Level 4.

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of markets, the trade process and settlement.

  • Prior leadership and management experience.

  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.

  • Analytical and accurate in approach.

  • Ability to effectively operate with enthusiasm and flexibility in a fast-paced, continually evolving environment.

  • Proven leadership and management skills; ability to prioritise and identify high-risk issues and communicate to senior management as required.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritise heavy workload and work efficiently under pressure.

  • Ability to quickly learn new processing systems.

  • Ability to anticipate problems.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Proven ability to build understanding and trust internally and with clients.

  • Awareness and experience of project management and ability to operate within project governance framework.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Staff management and development including performance management; maintenance of skills matrix to identify training gaps.

  • Articulation and delivery of overall business strategy.

  • Delivery of process improvements and automation.

  • Oversight of and involvement in team projects.

  • Product development.

  • Maintenance of team procedures and control framework through the Risk and Control Self-Assessment.

  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external control environment, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are up to date and followed by staff.

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) internally and externally.

    Escalate major or consistent breaches of SLAs.

  • Responsibility for dealing with internal and external audit functions when required.

  • Responsibility for market listed asset execution and operation of Bloomberg terminal.

  • Reporting to Head of Operations and wider Senior Management group.

  • Analysis of monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) information and Management Information (MI) trend reporting.

  • Ultimate oversight of team performance and query responses.
