Children's Placement Officer

An Independent Fostering Agency is looking for a Children's Placement Officer to liase with local authorities and Careplace in relation to the placement of children with the agency.

As the Children's Placement Officer, you will be responding positively and professionally to referrals from Local authorities ensuring the quality of information enables the identification of placements that meet the needs of children, that are well matched and fitted to the experience and knowledge foster carers.

This role is full-time and permanent position.

The ideal Children's Placement Officer will have looked after children and fostering experience.

You will need to be committed and have the drive to match this Independent Fostering Agencies ambitions and they always look internally for promotions before externally.

Your responsibilities as the Children's Placement Officer:

  • To attend and contribute to multi agency forums on placements when required.

  • To contribute to team working and good working relationships internally and externally.

  • To be proactive and show initiative and have a problem-solving approach.

  • To provide support and training to colleagues as directed.

  • To maintain high standards of customer care and uphold equality and diversity.

  • To receive and screen referrals understanding children's needs within the agency and the availability of resources to meet these needs.

  • To make established and productive relationships with LA placement services.

This is not a complete statement of all duties and the post holder may be required to carry out other duties as directed by the Registered Manager or Responsible Individual.

No other staff are supervised by the post holder.

Requirements of you as the Children's Placement Officer:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)

  • A valid registration with Social Work England

  • Significant experience of working within Looked After Children

  • Experience of working within Fostering

  • Must hold a full UK Driving Licence

Location: West London

Salary: up to £28,000
