@mecscomms is recruiting for a remote based, home working - Real Estate & Facilities Coordinator to ensure group real estate including; Network, Switch, POP, Exchange, CoLo & Data Centre sites are appropriately maintained to ISO / BSI, health & safety, security & environmental standards.

Furthermore you'll provide support for O&M, PPM, M&E, HVAC, H&S & other similar facilities operations.

If you have expertise in the management & coordination of complex mechanical, electrical & technical plant sites, ideally within a telecoms & IT datacentre environment, I'm keen to hear from you.

Position: Estates & Facilities Coordinator, Real Estate Coordinator, O&M, M&E, HVAC, H&S

Purpose: Ensure Group's physical properties (including its offices, data centres & network sites) are maintained, in accordance with ISO/BSI standards, legal & contractual obligations, whilst managing costs to a minimum.

Responsible for the facilities-related environment, including Health & Safety, environmental & security activities & accreditations

Environment: Network, Switch, POP, Exchange, CoLo & Data Centre, O&M, PPM, M&E, HVAC, H&S, ISO / BSI, Facilities Management, Real Estate Management, Office Management

Duration: Full time, permanent employment

Location: Work from home with some travel

Hours: Normal hours are Monday - Friday 09.00 - 17.30

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 basic + car + benefits

The E&F environment is constantly changing but is dominated by H&S & compliance activities & these need to be maintained to the correct legal standards.

The role will also take the lead in supplier management as most planned & reactive tasks are delivered by a third party suppliers, so success is measured by the management, planning & control of multiple suppliers.


, Ensure facilities are maintained to a legal, secure, safe healthy & hygienic standards
, Establish, review & improve facilities policies, processes & procedures
, Regular travel to all sites
, Resolution of Facilities Service Desk queries
, Procure, manage & audit third party maintenance & other related facilities
, Work with the access management team to ensure site access & security
, Review risk assessments & method statements
, Project work, such as moves, adds & changes, new office opening, office closures
, Maintain high levels of physical security in accordance with security policies
, Ensure legal, efficient & cost-effective waste management & recycling
, Ensure proper authorisation for all activities including from local authorities e.g.

building control
, Manage all property related financial administration
, Update all property related information onto the Property Database
, Establish relationships with key outsourced suppliers & coordinate activity
, Be a point of contact for all Planned Preventive Maintenance & reactive issues
, Ensure critical & routine compliance activities are managed effectively
, Manage all new build, refurbishment, alteration & fit out works
, Manage specification & quotation process for procuring both construction works & building services
, Implement & manage annual, planned maintenance regimes for
, Implement & manage a maintenance regime for all mechanical & electrical services
, Assist legal with estate management issues including rent reviews, ratings, dilapidations
, Ensuring Estates are compliant with all relevant legislation.
, Attend site Health & Safety meetings to identify & resolve any building, environmental & security issues.

, Emergency Preparedness - ensure first aid, fire & other emergency provisions are adequate
, Monitor & review facilities-related environment, health & safety activities

Candidate profile:

Candidates must have previous & similar Estates & Facilities Coordinator experience.

You're likely to have supported complex mechanical, electrical & technical plant sites, ideally within a telecoms & IT datacentre environment & will probably have worked within a Managed Hosting, Cloud, Systems / Network Integrator, ISP, Telco or similar type of managed technology service provider.
