Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for both a Mechanical Engineer and a Senior Mechanical Engineer, with design and Gas or any other hazardous areas industry experience (i.e.

Oil, Petrochemical, etc), for permanent positions in the Widnes area.

Salaries between £40k to £55k per annum plus benefits depending on experience and seniority plus benefits.



Working as the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will either have experience of Leading design team members, or have a desire to lead design team members.



For both positions, if you have gained experience with or on National Grid (or similar) projects, it would be an advantage however this is not essential.

High pressure pipeline experience would be preferred, intermediate pipeline pressure could suffice for the Mechanical Engineer role.



Working as the Senior Mechanical Engineer or the Mechanical Engineer your experience will cover all or some of the below:





*Good standards knowledge.

An awareness or understanding of, TD/1, TD/3, TD/12, TD/13, MSL/1 and PD 8010 would be an advantage.




*Understanding of Mechanical designs




*An awareness of Civil, CP, Stress and E&I designs




*Understanding of Mechanical designs to represent the client at various FPSAs including


HAZIDs, HAZOPs, HAZCON reviews




*Identify scope creep with the use of early warnings.




*Write feasibility studies




*Write Conceptual design studies




*Write Detail design studies




*Calculations including: Population Densities, BPDs, Design Factors




*Actual Design Factors




*Pipe wall thicknesses




*Proximity Pipe requirements




*Hydrostatic Test Pressure




*Hazardous areas




*Awareness of G37 layouts




*Material Take Offs




*Equipment Data Sheets




*Produce Design Risk registers




*Produce Decisions & Assumptions Registers




*Explosion Protection Document (EPD Pack)
