Software Trainer

Our client, a Staff Absence Management software company based in Wakefield, is currently seeking a Software Trainer to join their growing team.

The company provides online innovative staff absence management software developed specifically for schools and MATs.

The software was developed by an ex School Business Manager to tackle the challenges schools face.

It is now the leading education absence management tool, supporting hundreds of schools, over 7000 users and monitoring over 56,000 employees.

The Software automatically tells when staff hit triggers, when tasks are due, centralises documents, provides reports, allows staff to request leave, track Term-time+ and TOIL and complete Return to Work documents.

It makes managing and monitoring attendance easy, save admin time and reduce supply costs.

  • Responsible for developing and executing training plans, training materials, and training sessions, arrange facilities and provide software updates.
  • Required to review results and trainee feedback to improve materials and delivery, as well as identifying and develop additional software training opportunities.
  • Responsible for having up to date product knowledge & producing training literature and media
  • Preparing and providing high quality training to mixed groups of both client and staff audiences using various training techniques and delivery methods
  • Capturing client process in detail and suggest options during training as appropriate
  • Liaising with other departments as necessary to ensure client satisfaction • Assess training needs of clients and advise on specific training requirements
  • Organise and promote training courses
  • Prepare training materials
  • Feedback to wider SAM team from training and any recommendations suggested
  • Keeping up to date with system developments and ensuring training reflects this
  • Keep personal IT skills and knowledge up-to-date.
  • Assisting with internal and external projects
  • Contribute towards implementing a training infrastructure in line with clients training requirements
  • Working flexibly with the support team to ensure consistent delivery
  • Contribute to projects to complete work within tight deadlines to ensure complete customers satisfaction 


  • Qualifications equivalent to NVQ Level 3
  • GCSE in English and Maths Grade C or above or equivalent
  • Recognised ‘Education & Training’ qualification (desirable)
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD.
  • Commitment to own personal and professional development


  • Proven track record of presenting in front of audiences
  • Experience of delivering training both remotely via video link & face-to-face
  • Extensive experience in a similar client facing training role (desirable) Knowledge
  • Previous knowledge of specific training techniques that will engage and educate the end user

Salary: £20,000 - £25,000.

Annual Leave: 31 days (up to a max of 35 days including bank holidays);

Additional benefits: free parking.
