HSE Manager

Due to internal promotion, a fantastic opportunity has become available for a EHS Manager to join a Global Pharmaceutical business company based in the East Yorkshire area.

As the HSE Manager you will be responsible for the ongoing safe operation of the site, whilst adhering to cGMP regulations.

The objective is for systems, engineering/equipment controls, and practices to be fully embedded into operations, as well as procedures, and be suitably developed so that they exceed legislative requirements, forming a best practice model.



KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the HSE Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1.

You will work closely with the Site Director to prevent accidents, ensure management of safety through near miss investigation, and effective root cause investigation of accidents in order to implement effective corrective actions to prevent repeat incidents.

Ensure that non-compliance is identified and resolved by facilities improvements, procedural changes, and training.

2.

Ensure that KPI's are routinely measured and used by area management to indicate control and highlight areas of issue and generate action plans, KPI's are then acted upon at a local and global level.

3.

Drive behavioural safety as a key enabler to improving safety and reduce accidents.

Ensure routine compliance with all safety and environmental legislation.

The operation is run in a continuous audit ready state.

4.

Act as the key contact for external agencies for Safety and Environmental issues, including HSE and the Environmental Agency.

Ensure that the permit to work system is adhered to as the method for controlling contractor activities on site.

5.

Continue the development of ISO45001 and ISO14001 as the key management tools.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the HSE Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1.

The successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC or HND level in a related discipline or equivalent and hold a NEBOSH Diploma.

2.

You will have proven experience in the management and leadership of EHS within a highly regulated manufacturing or process environment, preferably a cGMP Pharmaceutical environment.

Experience working within a COMAH site is also desirable, but not essential.

3.

You will have experience in both ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification.
