Senior Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager - Joiners, Movers, and Leavers Global Process Design

Location: Kilburn, London (1 day in the office per week, remote work option available)

Pay Rate: £600 to £700 per day LTD (inside IR35) / £464.94 to £541.96 per day PAYE

Clearance Requirement: Counter Terror Clearance

Job Purpose: Take the lead on the Joiners, Movers, and Leavers Global Process Design workstream within the Met Shared Services Programme.

Your expertise will be crucial in delivering key workstream outputs, managing stakeholders, and ensuring the successful execution of this complex change portfolio.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Qualifications:

• Professional and/or graduate qualifications in project management or a similar field.


• MSP or PRINCE2 qualification is desirable.

Experience:

• Proven experience in senior management within a complex change portfolio.


• Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate with, and provide challenge to director-level stakeholders.


• Track record of resolving and escalating risks, issues, and conflicts within a complex change portfolio.


• Experience in managing suppliers and contractors, ensuring quality and value for money.


• Strong background in team management, fostering a collaborative culture, building capability, and promoting continuous learning.


• Successful management of complex programmes and projects.

Skills:

• Exceptional stakeholder management skills.


• Proficiency in analysing options to support decision makers.


• Strong understanding of business change processes.


• Competence in collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative data.


• Proficient in management and status reporting.


• Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills, including storytelling.


• Expertise in resource planning.


• Skillful in planning and dependency management.


• Proven ability in risk and issue management.


• Experience in benefits mapping and profiling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Joiners, Movers, and Leavers Global Process Design workstream within the Met Shared Services Programme.


• Deliver essential workstream outputs, including as-is journey maps and personas, to-be journey maps, and identifying and prioritising improvement opportunities.


• Provide progress and status updates to the programme board.


• Collaborate with external partners to meet the workstream's cost, quality, and time standards.


• Manage stakeholders from across the Met to ensure input into workstream deliverables.


• Effectively handle project dependencies within the programme and with other projects across the Met.


• Proactively manage risks and issues within the project, escalating to the programme level when necessary.

Additional Information:

• This role is based in Kilburn, London, and will require 1 day of office work per week.


• Remote work options available for 2 to 3 days from home.


• Occasional attendance at team and big events once a month, typically scheduled for Wednesdays.


• Flexibility for individuals to work outside of London with a willingness to attend workshops and meet stakeholders face to face as needed.
