Healthcare Property Solicitor

Sacco Mann are keen to speak to a Real Estate Solicitor to join a highly successful, Tier 1 Legal 500 Healthcare team in Newcastle City Centre.

The team work with NHS Trusts, Primary Care providers and health sector organisations on a wide range of real estate matters.

Examples of their work:

• Advising NHS Trusts on their estates rationalisation programmes and disposal of surplus land.


• Advising on landlord and tenant matters acting for both owners and occupiers.


• Advising on the sale and acquisition of healthcare property, including hospitals, surgeries and specialist clinics.


• Advising GP practices and PCNs in relation to property matters including refinances, reconfiguration of partnership, and landlord and tenant matters.


• Advising dental practices and pharmacies on acquisitions and disposals including leasehold and freehold matters, property elements of health sector business acquisitions and sales and property finance (working with their Banking/Real Estate Finance team on larger transactions).


• Providing separate representation to banks on the real estate elements of healthcare projects.


• Refinance and portfolio transfer, with lease backs for health sector clients.


• Land purchase, development, sale and sub sale (working with their Construction Team).

You will take the lead on health sector real estate projects.

Your wider team will work on larger NHS Projects and dental practice acquisitions and disposals.

You will supervise junior members of the team and work with them on a strategic approach to business development.

It is therefore required that you will be highly experienced in real estate matters specialising in public sector work for healthcare organisations such as NHS bodies, NHS Trusts, Ambulance Trusts, primary care providers, PCN's and property developers.

You should have a thorough understanding of the structure of the NHS and approvals process and should have good knowledge of the primary care rent reimbursement regime.

You will ideally be 5+ PQE and familiar with the real estate elements of health sector corporate transactions and be able to lead from a property perspective on such transactions.
