General Teacher

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young learners with social, emotional, and mental health needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Teacher to join our team and support students with SEMH challenges.


Position Overview:


As a General Teacher specialising in SEMH, you will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment for students facing social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

You will adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of each student, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that cater to the individual learning styles and needs of students with SEMH challenges.

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and emotional well-being.

  • Utilise effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development.

  • Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and relevant stakeholders.

  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians to facilitate communication and support student success both in and out of the classroom.


Qualifications:



  • Valid teaching certification/license

  • Specialisation or certification in Special Education or SEMH (preferred)

  • Previous experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs

  • Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and evidence-based strategies for supporting students

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students facing challenges
