Technical Writing Intern (Intern Program)

JOB DESCRIPTION



The Technical Writing Intern will be responsible for documenting the processes and procedures of the Product Group has many processes and procedures that need to be well documented.




Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

o Create & update internal standard operating procedures (SOPs), including but not limited to SAP, Power BI, and Smartsheet
o Create & update Smartsheet solution documentation (Automations, Formulas, Workflows, etc.)
o Collaborate with various departments (Product Management, R&D, Purchasing, Project Management, Marketing, etc.) to gather technical information
o Understand technical problems and communicate them effectively to non-technical people
o Validate information for accuracy and use a routing and review process for document approval
o Edit and generate content according to a style guide
o Manage tasks and information flow using collaborative platforms (Teams, Smartsheet, Outlook, etc.)
o Ability to edit & create documentation that is accurate, complete, clear, specific, and concise.
o Ability to explain technical concepts to peers and people from different parts of the organization and non-technical people
o Impeccable written and verbal communication
o Must be well-organized, extremely detail-oriented, and incredibly thorough
o Experience with various communications media, advanced formatting, and presentation skills
o High level of interpersonal communication skills
o Strong capacity for both logical thinking
o Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision


o Pursuing bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, or a related field.
o Knowledge in a technical field, such as engineering or computer & information technology
o Junior is preferred

Software skills needed:

o Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Adobe


The hourly range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $19.00 and $21.00.

This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
